PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Humaira Madawa is a collaborating attorney working with us from Texas, U.S.A.

Humaira completed her legal internship at Kalman Samuels in Montreal and joined the team as a lawyer in 2016. Me Madawa very quickly took over carriage of her own complex files and took charge of civil and family matters in Superior Court and Court of Quebec. Distinguished by her strong will and perseverance, Me Madawa strives to find the best possible resolution for her clients while ready to negotiate when best sought.

Prior to her legal career, Ms Madawa studied and graduated from Hofstra University in New York in Political Science and completed an internship at the United Nations quarters as part of her field of study. She then followed her passion for law and completed her legal studies at Université de Montreal. During her last semester of civil law, she completed a study abroad program at the Université d’Aix Po in Aix-en-Provence in France learning about European and French legal systems.

Me Humaira Madawa has also been involved with the Canadian Parliament as a witness by delivering opinions on new legislative matters or changes to current laws.  Furthermore, Me Madawa has participated at round table discussions with the Minister of Immigration to propose changes to previous laws.

With her knowledge of the dual Canadian legal system of Common Law and Civil Law, Me Madawa has focused her practice on Canadian Immigration law and has been working remotely from Texas, United States since 2019. Me Madawa handles foreign clients who are seeking to immigrate, work or visit Canada either temporarily or permanently. As a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, she is accustomed to the complexity of immigration files involving dual residency and citizenship issues. Me Madawa is currently working on obtaining her accreditation as an American barrister to further assist her clients in both countries.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

Me Madawa has been a strong advocate of equal access to justice for all. Since her early days as a law student, Me Madawa has been working with Pro Bono Canada and offering her legal services to those in need.
