It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of the Associate Chief Justice of the Superior Court, the Honourable Eva Petras. This is a great loss to our justice system.
She was an exceptional judge: humble, courteous, attentive to the needs of those under trial, with a great capacity for analysis and an extraordinary ability to synthesize. A great lady of great humanism.
The Honourable Eva Petras was one of those judges of whom everyone agreed that there were only good things to say, she was a true source of inspiration.
